Handlung
Wir befinden uns in Britannien, mitten im Jahr 932 n. Chr.
King Arthur macht sich auf die Suche nach dem Heiligen Gral. Dabei wird er unterstützt von seinem treuen Diener Patsy und den Rittern der Tafelrunde – die er jedoch erst einmal finden muss. Eine ereignisreiche und skurrile Reise durch das Königsreich führt ihm den tapferen Sir Lancelot, den etwas weniger mutigen Sir Robin, Bedevere, der nur klug scheint, und den aufrührerischen Sir Galahad zu.
Die Truppe erhält von Gott selbst die Bestimmung: »Findet den Heiligen Gral!«
Nachdem geklärt ist, weshalb ausgerechnet der »Allwissende« nicht weiß, wo sein »Becher« ist, beginnt die Suche nach dem heiligen Gefäß.
Weshalb die Schöne aus dem Schilf King Arthur nicht von der Seite weicht, die Tafelrunde in Las Vegas tagt, Showgirls die Truppe unterhalten und schließlich auch noch ein eigenes Musical aufgeführt werden muss – das ist eben das Schräge an »Spamalot«.
